Choosing a hotel in Page, Arizona, starts with your itinerary: an antelope canyon tour, time on the lake, or both? Staying in town makes meals easier to plan, while Wahweap is better suited to a Lake Powell getaway. We compare the options by sleeping arrangements, amenities, and travel time.

Where to Stay in Page: Downtown, Wahweap, or Big Water?

Page is in Arizona, near Utah. Big Water is across the state line in Utah and means more driving if most of your sightseeing is around Page. Wahweap primarily suits travelers looking to spend time on the lake.

The details below were checked on October 22, 2026. They apply to the properties and room categories listed and do not guarantee availability.

Property Best suited to Documented amenities and dining options What to keep in mind
Best Western View of Lake Powell Couples or families who want breakfast at the hotel Hot breakfast included, free parking, seasonal outdoor pool; the hotel lists nearby restaurants Walking routes to restaurants have not been checked
Suites on 10th Families who want to cook and do laundry Full kitchen, queen sleeper sofa, free laundry facilities Suites are listed as upstairs; confirm the main beds and total occupancy
Motel 6 Page Travelers comparing options for an overnight stop Outdoor pool, elevator, coin laundry; room category with two double beds Confirm family occupancy limits and pool opening dates
Lake Powell Resort, Wahweap Stays focused on the lake and the concessionaire's excursions Junior suite with living area and sleeper sofa; seasonal pools and hot tub Bedding subject to availability, views sometimes affected by water levels, extra fees
Rodeway Inn & Suites Big Water - Antelope Canyon Families also considering Lone Rock Room category with two double beds for four guests, plus a microwave A microwave is not a full kitchen; driving required to reach Page

For dinner close to your room, Best Western View of Lake Powell lists a restaurant next door and Steer 89 across the street. Still, check the walking route. Be sure you have the right property: Best Western Plus At Lake Powell is a separate hotel.

For families who want to cook, Suites on 10th is a practical option to investigate. Ask about kitchen utensils, the main beds, and access to the upstairs suites before booking if you have a stroller or mobility limitations. The property asks guests to contact it directly for nightly rates.

At Best Western View of Lake Powell, children 12 and under can stay at no extra charge in existing beds with a paying adult, subject to room occupancy limits. At other properties, the number of beds alone does not tell you how many guests are allowed.

Understanding the differences between motels and other road trip accommodations can help you choose.

How Many Nights Should You Book for Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell?

We recommend two nights so you have a full day. One night works for a shorter stop with fewer activities.

You may be able to fit in Horseshoe Bend on arrival, depending on the heat, the light, and how tired you are. Reaching the overlook requires a walk from the parking lot: bring water and allow plenty of time before dark. Plan the next day around Antelope Canyon.

Choose Wahweap for a specific activity. The NPS estimates the drive from Page at about 8 miles, or 14 minutes, in directions updated September 17, 2026. Staying at the resort makes it easier to reach the meeting point for its boat excursions: the operator requires guests to be in the lobby 30 minutes before departure. That requirement was posted on October 22, 2026.

Antelope Point is about 9 miles, or 15 minutes, from Page, according to the NPS. These estimates refer to general areas, not your hotel or the meeting points for land tours of Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon.

Big Water is worth considering for Lone Rock, whose entrance is about 2 miles south of town. The final stretch of the access road is mostly sand, and neither passable conditions nor swimming access is guaranteed.

The NPS update from September 15, 2026 highlights how boating access can change. Check the Glen Canyon alerts as well: a marina does not necessarily offer a place to swim.

Glen Canyon is a national recreation area. On a 15-day road trip through the American West, plan it as a separate stop before planning your Grand Canyon visit.

Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon: Which Tour Should You Book Before Your Hotel?

If Antelope Canyon is the reason for your stop, book the tour first, then choose a room with cancellation terms that suit your plans. There is no single booking window that guarantees a spot.

Both Upper and Lower require a guide authorized by the Navajo Nation. The following details were checked on October 22, 2026, and apply specifically to the operators named.

Antelope Canyon Tours requires guests to arrive 30 minutes before its Upper tour. The route includes sand, an uphill section, ramps, and stairs; the tour is not wheelchair accessible. At Dixie's, the Lower tour includes several flights of stairs and narrow passages, and guests must arrive 45 minutes early.

Before paying, check mobility requirements, rules for children, bags, permitted gear, and weather cancellations. Antelope Canyon Tours uses Arizona time, the same as Phoenix. Confirm the time used by your operator: time differences between Arizona and neighboring areas can cause your phone to display the wrong time.

A boat trip through an area called Antelope Canyon does not replace a land tour of Upper or Lower.

What Costs Should You Compare Before Booking Your Room?

Compare the same dates and number of guests, using the total including taxes and fees. Factor in meals, parking, and cancellation terms. Among the properties listed here, only Best Western View of Lake Powell has a confirmed included breakfast.

As of October 22, 2026, Lake Powell Resort listed a $14.99 resort fee per room, per night, totaling $29.98 for two nights before any applicable taxes. Its terms also mentioned energy and infrastructure fees without specifying an amount, so $14.99 may not cover all extra charges.

The resort requires payment for the first night when you book and lists an additional charge for more than two adults. Cancellation terms depend on the rate you choose. At Wahweap, the Rainbow Room lists breakfast and dinner service from April 1 through October 31; reconfirm those dates for your stay.

We do not quote a hotel price range without comparable dates and occupancy. A kitchen can reduce meal costs; a seasonal pool is only worth paying extra for if it is open during your stay.

Then budget separately for your room, Navajo tour, municipal parking at Horseshoe Bend, and federal entrance fees. In 2026, the NPS listed a seven-day fee of $30 per private vehicle at Glen Canyon, including all occupants.

The America the Beautiful pass covers eligible federal entrance fees, but not boat trips, Antelope Canyon, or parking at Horseshoe Bend. Check the park pass terms.

Our Take: Two Nights in Page, Wahweap for a Lake-Focused Stay

First-time visitors or couples. We would choose two nights in Page to plan Antelope Canyon around a full day. Best Western View of Lake Powell is worth comparing if you want breakfast included and restaurants nearby. For a one-night stay, we would make the lake optional.

Families. We favor Suites on 10th for cooking and laundry, once you have confirmed the sleeping arrangements and upstairs access. The Best Western is another option with breakfast included. We advise against choosing a property solely for a pool whose opening dates are unknown.

Budget travelers. We compare the total at Motel 6 with other rooms in Page. Big Water makes sense if the savings justify the driving or if Lone Rock is on your itinerary. The microwave helps with some meals but does not replace a kitchen.

Lake stays. We would choose Wahweap for water activities, especially those that meet at the resort. For a trip focused solely on the canyons, we advise against paying more for this location. Factor in the $29.98 resort fee for two nights, before taxes and any other potential charges.
