Redwood: Plan Around the Crescent City Information Center Closure on October 27
The Crescent City Information Center and bookstore will close on October 27, 2026, for a scheduled water outage, so leave this stop out of your Redwood plans that day.
If you're planning a visit to Redwood, there's one stop you'll need to reconsider. The Crescent City Information Center is closed on October 27, 2026. The closure also includes its bookstore. A scheduled water outage is the reason for the closure.
That means you won't be able to use the information center that day. If you planned to ask questions there before exploring the park, we recommend finding those answers ahead of time. The same goes for the bookstore. If you were planning to shop there, take it off your itinerary for the day to avoid a wasted trip.
The scope of the announcement matters. It applies to the Crescent City Information Center and its bookstore. It doesn't indicate a parkwide closure at Redwood. It also provides no information about access to other places in the park. We recommend checking the information you need for each stop separately from this information center closure.
To plan your route, see the Redwood park guide. Use it to identify what you'll need to sort out before you arrive, including any questions you planned to ask at the counter. If this stop was going to be the starting point for your day, adjust the order of your itinerary.
Keep October 27, 2026, in mind. The announcement covers a one-day closure related to the scheduled water outage. It doesn't give a specific reopening time. We recommend checking that before rescheduling a visit to the center, without assuming the closure will extend beyond the announced date.
