King Tides Disrupt Visits on Land and by Boat at Biscayne
Flooding is affecting several areas of Biscayne, so plan for access disruptions and small craft advisories when organizing your visit.
By David Sanchez,
If you're planning a visit to Biscayne, be ready to adjust your plans. Unusually high tides are currently causing flooding in several areas of the park, affecting both walking areas and harbor facilities. We recommend keeping your itinerary flexible, even if you're planning to stay around Convoy Point.
The Jetty Trail at Convoy Point is among the flooded areas. Floodwater may prevent you from taking a planned walk there. Boca Chita and Elliott Key harbors are also affected. Other low-lying areas throughout the park are flooding, too, so disruptions extend beyond the three locations named in the alert.

For organized excursions, the park has announced one specific cancellation. All Biscayne National Park Institute boat programs scheduled for October 26, 2026, have been canceled. This notice applies to that organization's activities on that date. It doesn't mean all excursions on subsequent days are canceled, and it doesn't establish when normal operations will resume.
If you're planning to head out in a small boat, small craft advisories are also in effect. We recommend factoring these advisories into your preparations. Access to a harbor doesn't guarantee you'll be able to head out on the water.
For help adjusting your itinerary, see the Biscayne National Park guide. Once you're there, avoid any route that would take you through a flooded area. You'll need to change your planned route if a closure or directions from park staff prevent access. The park hasn't announced when this episode of king tide flooding will end.
