Arches: Adjust Your Plans Around Delicate Arch
At Arches, the Delicate Arch Viewpoints are closed, but the road remains open to Wolfe Ranch, so plan your visit accordingly.
By Jocelyn Pion,
If you're planning a stop at Arches, revisit any plans to take in Delicate Arch from the viewpoints. The Delicate Arch Viewpoints are currently inaccessible. We recommend removing these stops from your itinerary, but that doesn't mean the entire area is closed.
The key detail to keep in mind is that you can still reach Wolfe Ranch via Delicate Arch Road. This open stretch doesn't give you access to the viewpoints farther along the road. If you planned to drive to these stops in one outing, you'll need to adjust your itinerary accordingly.

Flooding has affected the road leading to the viewpoints, and debris is also blocking access. For your current visit, that means you shouldn't count on stopping at these viewpoints.
No reopening date has been announced. We recommend keeping this part of your itinerary flexible. Before making new plans around these stops, check their status with the park. In the meantime, plan your day around the access routes listed as open.
Be careful to distinguish between locations when reviewing your trip notes. The alert concerns the Delicate Arch Viewpoints and their access road. It doesn't specify whether trails in the area are accessible, so this information alone isn't enough to decide whether to go on a hike.
For help working this restriction into your plans, see the Arches National Park guide. We recommend keeping two separate notes in your itinerary. Wolfe Ranch remains accessible by road, while stops at the Delicate Arch Viewpoints should be left out for now.
